What is Grief?

Grief is change. It is an inevitable and natural response to any type of loss. Its intensity ranges from a dull ache to crippling our lives and everything in between. While grief is a universal experience, individual grief is a very personal roller coaster of emotions.

Responding to Grief

is an invitation to embrace the fullness of humanity by noticing how a particular loss impacts physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. It provides simple, practical, and direct ways of looking at and learning to respond to the pain inherent in the grief experience. This gentle process opens one to the possibility of transforming loss - not minimizing, avoiding, or pushing it away - but using it to deepen understanding, self-care, and even joy.
